Reflections on the experiment with the Aural Fabric. Is the design of the map affecting its sonic exploration?
I will present a summary of the findings I collected from the use of Aural Fabric as an educational approach to research in acoustics and architecture. Aural Fabric: Greenwich is an interactive textile sonic map employing capacitive sensing, streaming the field recordings from a soundwalk in London, upon the touch of the corresponding locations on the map. The talk will have a focus on the choice of electronic textiles as an aesthetic and functional material whilst discussing the results from the study.
