Abstract Saul Albert 13th June 2013
Saul Albert will host a good old debate/discussion/bun fight*/argument (!) on Conversation as an analytical resource.
“Leaving plenty of time for discussion, I will introduce the use of recordings of everyday conversation as an empirical resource in helping to formulate a meaningful hypothesis in any research area. I will demonstrate the unique facility of interactional analysis to reveal up-front if there are fundamental problems with a research question, and suggest that Conversation Analysis is especially well suited to the study of cognition alongside other methodologies in the context of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.”
Note *buns not provided but a nice sticky iced bun is very effective in these situations.
